| Q: What kind of toys/donation can I give? |
Toys must be unwrapped and new in unopened original packages.
We find that the age groups of under 3 years old (infants) and 10-up (Boys and Girls) are always the hardest to buy, collect, and distribute for. This has been a trend since the beginning of the program. If you need ideas for what to donate take a look below for good ideas that we have seen through our years of sorting and distributing.
- Please try to stay away from plush animals. They have become overabundant, and are getting harder to distribute due to allergies, etc.
- Remember New and Unwrapped Toys, Please!
- Also, if you purchase anything that requires batteries, a little added perk would be to securely tape the proper size and number of batteries to the outside of the box. Batteries are expensive!
- Ages 0-2 (Infants):
- Educational Toys (toys that develop an infants motor skills)
- Physical Development Toys (toys which develop walking, crawling, or sitting muscles)
- Disney, Sesame Street Toys, Playskool, Fisher-Price, Little Tikes (these toys are usually on sale around the holidays and help young children to start relating between the characters that they see on Educational TV and their physical world)
- Hard Cover Books
|
- Ages 3-5 (Boys and Girls):
- Books
- Baby Dolls
- Tonka Trucks
- Board Games
- Models
- Legos
- Barbies & accessories

| Q: How can my business become a Toy Drop Off Location? |
Bucks County Toys For Tots averages over 350 drop-sites a year in surrounding businesses and communities in the Bucks-Mont area. These are places were people who want to donate a toy can drop it off and it will get to Toys for Tots for distribution. To register as a drop-site please click on the link under "Get Involved" on any page within the site that says "Become a Toy Drop Site" to open a fillable form. Once it is complete, click submit. This will transmit the information to our office.
If you are looking for a one-time pickup (company holiday party, family party, etc) please do NOT fill out the drop-site form. Instead, select the "Host a Toys for Tots Event" link under "Get Involved" above, and fill out the form there. Thank you!!
Remember the drop-dead date for collection this year is Thursday, December 10th! This is so our volunteers have time to sort and distribute the remaining toys and get them to the people who need them the most, the children! |

| Q: How can I become a Toys for Tots volunteer? |
| The Marine Corps Reserve and Toys For Tots would not be successful if it were not for the communities that surround us. If you would like to donate your time or efforts to help and sort through the thousands upon thousands of toys that we distribute each and every year it would be greatly appreciated. Please click on the link that says "Sign Up to Volunteer" under "Get Involved" on any page within the site and fill out & submit the form. |

| Q: How can I obtain toys for my children or for someone else? |
Due to the large need in Bucks County, and the small number of volunteers working the program, we are unable to do direct screenings of families in need. If you are a family in need, we ask that you review the information on the "Request A Toy" page here: http://BucksCountyPA.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/request-toys.aspx
Local social service agencies and other legitimate organizations are used to identify needy children and help coordinators distribute toys in the local community. This reduces the possibility of one family receiving multiple gifts. For the benefit of the Toys For Tots program, Marines, to the extent feasible, distribute some toys directly to needy children (e.g. hospitals, hospices, shelters, special children’s event etc.)
If you are an agency who would like to request toys, at the top of any page within the site is a link that says "Request a Toy". Please click to open a fillable form. Once it is complete, click submit, and it will be transmitted to our office. Please have the number of children that you will be supporting broken down by age group (0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, and 12-15) and gender, your tax-exemption letter (stating that you are a non-profit organization), and a description of how you assess your supported families (i.e. Income, screenings).
REMEMBER: We start accepting applications on the 1st of November of each year and we work on a first-come-first-serve basis. Every order is given an order number and is filled in that numeric order. You will be notified when your order is ready. ALL requests for toys must be received no later than December 9th. |

| Q: How can my corporation become a Local/National Sponsor? |
Our volunteers work very hard to make Toys For Tots a success, but we could never do it without the help of concerned citizens and business leaders. We rely on local businesses for assistance in a number of areas, including - but not limited to:
- Providing toy collection sites.
- Providing boxes to package toy orders
- Assisting in the transportation and storage of toys.
- Helping to promote Toys For Tots in the media.
- Underwriting special events.
- Assisting with such critical services as printing, warehousing, fundraising, etc
For the many volunteers who make Toys For Tots possible year after year, Toys For Tots embodies the true spirit of Christmas. The gift of a shiny new toy-something that most children take for granted-means to a needy child that someone cares, that he/she hasn't been forgotten, that Christmas hasn't passed them by.
The Marine Corps believes that "Every Child deserves a Little Christmas," and we are asking you to help us send the needy children of our community a message of hope this Christmas through the gift of a new toy.
If your business or organization is interested in becoming a local Corporate Sponsor of Toys For Tots, please contact Kevin J Miller. (EMAIL: BucksCountyPA@ToysForTots.org, FAX 267-443-4TOY; U.S. Postal Service: Attn: "Toys For Tots", PO Box 149, Milford Square, PA 18935-0149)

| Q: Why a Toys for Tots website? |
Toys for Tots created a national website to provide information, education, and an opportunity to donate to Toys for Tots to the American public. Support of our program via the website has increased every year! We are grateful to our generous donors for their continuous and loyal support. return to top > |
|
| |
| Q: How do I find my local Toys for Tots campaign? |
The national website is the starting point to find one of our nearly 800 Toys for Tots campaign sites. At the top of the Home Page of the Foundation's National Website (www.toysfortots.org), there is a menu option “Donate a Toy”. From this menu, one may select the state, then the city/county in which they reside. If the city/county is covered, clicking on that location will take the surfer to a local Toys for Tots website. At the local website, each visitor may find information about local events, how to become a collection point for the local campaign, how to register for assistance, and how to donate directly to a local campaign. return to top > |
|
| |
| Q: What ages are supported by Toys for Tots? |
Most campaign sites are able to assist children up to age 12, but in many local communities, local support is such that the age limit may be extended to 14-16. return to top > |
|
| |
| Q: Is there a list of toys available to guide me with my donation? |
Toys for Tots does not publish a list of appropriate toys to donate. If such a list were created, most would follow it, resulting in a limited selection of items to distribute in each community. We would rather our donors consider what might be an appropriate gift for their own child/relative, purchase the item, and donate to Toys for Tots. return to top > |
|
| |
| Q: Pre-teen/teens are groups for which shopping is especially difficult. Do you have any ideas? |
The Foundation does purchase supplemental toys/gifts for our campaign sites and focuses on these age groups. In the past, items purchased for these groups have included, but are not limited to: sporting equipment/bags/balls; books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers. return to top > |
|
| |
| Q: Are there toys/gifts that are not accepted/distributed? |
Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food. If donated, such items will NOT be distributed. return to top > |
|
| |
| Q: I signed up for assistance/to be a collection site but have not heard anything. What should I do? |
You must contact the local Toys for Tots representative about such particulars. Contacting the national Foundation can increase the time it takes for such a message to reach the appropriate person. The Foundation is located in Virginia and is limited to either e-mailing or calling the local contact to inform them of any requests that may have been overlooked. return to top > |
